The Third Letter of St.John

The Third Letter of

St. John

1. The elder of the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.

(The Third Letter of John verse 1)

In the name of God my Father, for whom You gave testimony and witness, I thank You for sharing these letters of love. It is like in a relationship where the couple sends love letters of love to each other in order to keep the fuel of love and relationship burning. I pray oh Jesus Son of God and God Almighty that we keep on growing each day in our relationship Amen.

2. Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.

(The Third Letter of John verse 2)

Oh God my Father, on meeting somebody I usually ask the person how he or she is, however on reflecting that is only referring to one's body or psychological self. It would have been better of me to ask the person 'How are You in the body, and in Spirit?', because this would also refer, to the spiritual side of the person. Amen

3. I was overjoyed when some of the friends arrived and testified to your faithfulness to the truth, namely how you walk in the truth. 4. I have no greater joy than this to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

(The Third Letter of John verses 3 to 4)

Oh God my Father, there are those of us who experience pleasure at the good news of a promotion, or a graduation and other worldly achievements such as the birth of a child, or a solution to cancer, however as in the case of John few of us may be happy that we are still believing in You my, God and Father, even though we are sinners by nature. Let us, therefore, rejoice that You still believe in us, and we believe in You Amen.

5.Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the friends, even though they are strangers to you; 6. they have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on in a manner worthy of God; 7. for they began their journey for the sake of Christ, accepting no support from non-believers.

(The Third Letter of John verses 5 to 7)

Oh God, my Father I feel unworthy to be accounted as being one of Your friends, however. there is nothing more that can ever make me happier. I thank You for empowering me on this quest of proclaiming the Bible. When I sought the help of unbelievers You terminated the relationship so that we could be together in this walk of relationship and make of, these moments of prayer time an experience of spiritual growth comfort and healing Amen.

8. Therefore we ought to support such people, so that we may become co-workers with the truth.

(The Third Letter of John verse 8)

Oh God my Father, I pray for all those who are proclaiming Your Name, even if they are not part of the Roman Catholic Church for anybody who speaks positively  about You and spreads the 'Good News' cannot possibly be against You Amen. I pray that we reap an abundance of fruit and that many turn from their ways to You my God and Father Amen.

9. I have written something to the church; but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority.

(The Third Letter of John verse 9)

Oh God, my Father when we find ourselves using a lot of 'I' or 'my' statements and declarations we might find ourselves becoming the centre point of reference of our live, or even leading the role of God. Our attitude my God and Father is to become one focused and centred on You and not on myself or ourselves. Our reasoning is to be:

'If if it is according to the will of God, that I might pursue this or that career or role, or make the following decisions!

When placing God in the centre giving Him full control and authority, You God my Father will bless all our achievements because they will all be according to Your will Amen.

10. So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing in spreading false charges against us. And not content with those charges, he refuses to welcome the friends, and even prevents those who want to do so and expels them from the church.

(The Third Letter of John verse 10)

Oh God my Father in a fervour of love for You, Your Word, and the Church I beckon on those who call themselves Roman Catholics but who in truth do not believe in You my God and Father to leave the Roman Catholic Church and find their fulfilment or meaning of life elsewhere. You oh God my Father were always against hypocrites. I am sorry that even #i sometimes behave likewise, due to my sinful actions but I still proclaim my belief in You both in public and in private I proclaim Your Holy Name Amen.

11. Beloved, do not imitate what is evil but imitate what is good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God. 12. Everyone has testified favorably about Demetrius, and so has the truth itself. We also testify for him, and you know that our testimony is true. 13. I have so much to write to you, but I would rather not write with pen and ink; 14. instead I hope to see you soon, and we will talk together face to face. 15. Peace to you. The friends send you their greetings. Greet the friends there each by name.

(The Third Letter of John verses 11 to 15)

Oh God, my Father how I wish that I am freed from worldly inclinations so that I could be totally Yours. I thank You for giving me the Holy Bible so that I can imitate You as in the scriptures and in the testimonies of others as found in the Bible. I also thank You for other positive sources such as the Book 'The Imitation of Christ' that was also a great help to me that ca now be found on the internet. However, most of all thank You for giving me this opportunity to share my prayers online and join with others while doing so by means of social media such as G+ facebook and even Twitter. Thank You Jesus Amen.

Oh God my Father, I would like to end this third letter of St. John with the following prayer:-

Oh God my Father as in the case of Gaius in the letter of st. John, I also would like to be of help to others, especially to those who have ended up leaving their homeland and seeking asylum in other countries such as Malta and elsewhere in the world. I wish that I lead such an exemplary life that I reflect Your presence and that other also experience You in this way. Amen. Thank You Jesus Amen.
